Volunteers Welcome

If you would like to volunteer your services at Totnes Littlehempston Station, contact Allan Lovegrove for the Maintenance Department  (telephone 01803 550236) or David Hughes for the Booking Office or Platform Duties (telephone 01803 529410).

Station Master Keith Juett checks to see if there are any more passengers coming to join the train before it departs for Staverton and Buckfastleigh.

Opportunities for Volunteering at Totnes Littlehempston.
The Totnes Group operates Totnes Littlehempston Station by supplying staff to operate the station during the running season. This includes Booking Clerks and platform staff. Other jobs covered are the overall maintenance of the station buildings and grounds. As with maintaining any property there is always a high cost, and the Totnes Group try to raise most of this themselves by the use of strategically placed donation boxes, and sales of previously used books, magazines and toys. We welcome both ladies and gentlemen to assist us with any of these tasks. All our members are required to be members of the South Devon Railway Association.

The South Devon Railway always requires on board train staff, such as Guards, Firemen, Drivers, Buffet Attendants and Travelling Ticket Inspectors. These duties will require a period of training, and in some cases involve the passing an examination on rules and a medical.  John Keohane is the SDRA Volunteer Co-ordinator, and can be contacted on 01803 556733.

If you are interested in joining us, contact Allan Lovegrove at 01803 550236 or just turn up on a Saturday and see for yourself what goes on. You will be most welcome.
If unable to actively participate but want to assist, please join the South Devon Railway Association and your membership fee will help the Railway. Additionally you will receive the quarterly Association Magazine 'BULLIVER' to keep you up to date as well as privilege fares. Allan Lovegrove is also the Membership Secretary and therefore is the man to contact.
